1. Operation bulletin management:
• Make and approve operation breakdowns (OB).
• Release style OB, line layouts, and thread consumption charts based on the production schedule.
2. CMT estimation: estimate labor cost (CMT) and productivity.
3. Style simplification and method improvement:
• Re-analyze evaluated garments to identify more cost-effective methods to reduce labor cost.
• Make construction simplification related to seam and method without affecting the actual appearance of sample.
4. Audit factory and lines to ensure the operation bulletin and line layout are followed by line supervisor.
5. Research and explore new machinery and latest systems that meet company’s long-term goals and prepare cost benefits analysis and ROI for proposed technological upgrades.
6. Productivity analysis:
• Analyze labor productivity of factories and sewing lines.
• Estimate line capacity for all new development styles based on garment sketch or samples.
7. Manpower requirement: Rationalize department-wise manpower requirements based on target strength ratios.
8. Cross-departmental coordination:
• Planning department: Collaborate to enhance pre-production processes, style allocation, capacity planning, and monthly factory plans based on historical efficiency data.
• Human Resources: Monitor training progress (including fresh and multi-skill training programs).
• Factory manager: Coordinate finishing plans based on delivery schedules.
• Sewing technical: Ensure correct sewing methods and count sew time.
9. Take initiative on lean manufacturing, learning of lean tools and looking for scope of implementation in the factory.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the garment manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience using the GSD system.
- Strong knowledge of Industrial Engineering and garment production processes.
- Willingness to work on new projects and propose advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
